Color in A Song Title

Fields of Gold

“Fields of Gold”  11″ x 9″ watercolor.  Please message me if interested.

Paint My Photo’s Monthly Challenge for both June and July is to paint an image inspired by a song.   However, the chosen song must have a color in its titled.

Sting’s “Fields of Gold” immediately popped into my mind.  While looking through reference photos on this great website, I found one by Freda Austin Nichols of this woman with her violin.  While the original photo had her set against a gigantic moon, the beauty of being an artist is changing things to fit what you envision.

Humming the song since I read the Challenge, I also used the exercise to work on my people painting skills again.  Though cheating a bit as this one is from the back.

If you haven’t heard this haunting song recently, here’s a link.
