We donated this bench to the condo community we are living in. It is in memory of Jim’s step-mom who owned the condo. While we are moving due to size constraints, the bench will remain to look over the pond and what was once her condo, and a plaque on the bench commemorats her participation on the Board of Directors and her residency here.
The bench has found it’s way onto my sketchbook, onto a birthday card, and in a Plein air painting and now this little painting. Perhaps because of the sentiment involved, but also because I keep finding new views. Or maybe,I still haven’t mastered the subject.
It could also be a a reminder to look at objects (and life) a little differently now and then. You might be surprised at what you see.
